I am posting a link to all 40 of the "I LOVE A CHALLENGE" challenges. If you are feeling up to it, set a goal for yourself to try to complete one or two challenges a day and try to compete all of the challenges before the end of the school year. Did you know that there are 36 days until the end of the school year and only 26 school days until it's officially summer break... although I'm sure it probably already feels like summer break for some of you :)
Let me know if you accept this challenge! Do you love a challenge? I love a challenge!
I am going to post a new challenge for you twice a week. These challenges are posted by Dark Horse. - The International Physical Literacy Association, May 2014 Click on the picture below to learn more about physical literacy and why it is so important to help our children to be active for life. This week is the perfect week to teach yourself a new skill! I would encourage everyone to pick a new skill that you would like to learn. Once you have decided on the new skill, research the skill, google ways to learn the skill and then practice, practice, practice. I have decided that I am going to learn how to juggle! I have included a great resource from thephysicaleducator.com that I am going to follow to learn my new skill. Check it out! You can learn how to juggle too. Please send me a message and let me know what new skill you are going to learn. I'm looking out my window right now and it's wet! My family has been enjoying lots of outdoor time lately, biking, walking our new pup, playing ball and playing on the trampoline. Today, we have a few special doorstep deliveries to drop off and then our school work. After that we are going to play some sock-ball games! You should check them out too!
Have fun! This nature scavenger hunt combines physical activity with a bit of math, science, literacy and a whole lot of fun. So, print off this card, grab a crayon, lace up your shoes and head outside for a walk.
I added this list of 16 everyday activities that count as learning because I think that it is really important for all of us to remember that we learn by DOING lots of different things. Learning is fun and we should try new things often.
This is another on-line P.E. lesson created by Joey Feith, a physical education teacher in Montreal. This lesson will help you to understand the difference between a heart beat, your pulse and your heart rate. It will help you know when your heart rate is in the moderate to vigorous zone and to identify different activities that can help your heart get into that zone. Click on the links below for the video and resources. Have fun!
Today I am posting a fun lesson created by Joey Feith, a physical education teacher in Montreal. He is going to talk to us about how regular physical activity can keep your heart healthy and strong. This is a very important lesson because a healthy heart means that you are able to live as many adventures as possible. When your heart is strong, your body is able to be active for long periods of time without getting too tired. This means that you can have fun, active adventures everyday! And you know how much I love to have active adventures :)
I have posted the links to the resources that you need below. Please watch the first video called "Active Adventures: Pokemon Scavenger Hunt" first. This on-line physical education lesson will help you to: understand how your heart works, it will explain how physical activity can help you keep your heart healthy and strong and it will guide you through the steps to play the Pokemon Fitness Scavenger Hunt. All of the links are posted below, have fun!!!! |
